The Role
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will teach English Language and/or Literature across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, depending on experience and programme familiarity. You’ll join a passionate, supportive teaching team committed to academic excellence and student wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across one or more of the following: MYP, IGCSE, and/or A-Level
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations
- Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Support language development for both native and non-native English speakers
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental initiatives
- Participate in whole-school events, activities, and professional development
Person Specification
Essential:
*Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
*Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
*Experience teaching secondary English (preferably with international curricula)
*Strong classroom management and communication skills
*A collaborative approach and a commitment to student-centred learning
Desirable:
*Familiarity with MYP, IGCSE, or A-Level frameworks
*Experience working in bilingual or international schools
*Ability to contribute to co-curricular activities (debate, drama, writing clubs, etc.)
*ESL/EAL teaching experience or qualifications
