SeekTeachers is seeking a passionate and committed High School English Teacher to join our client in Shanghai. 
 
Our client is a non-profit bilingual school located in the beautiful Shanghai city, offering a unique Year 1 - 12 educational programme that integrates elements of Shanghai and international curricula, culminating in Years 9-12 with the IGCSE and IB Diploma Programmes, which are complemented by core components of the Shanghai curriculum. The school has been established for over 10 years and currently enrols over 1,500 students from aged 5-18. 
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that develop students’ literary analysis, critical thinking, and language skills in alignment with the Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme curricula.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver IGCSE English (First Language, Literature, or Second Language) and IBDP English (Language & Literature / Literature HL & SL) lessons.
- Use inquiry-based, skills-focused, and concept-driven teaching methods that align with IB and Cambridge philosophy.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and communication through diverse literary texts, media, and writing tasks.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to varied learning styles and abilities.
- Design and implement formative and summative assessments in line with IGCSE and IBDP assessment criteria.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student progress.
- Guide students in preparing for IGCSE and IB exams, including Paper 1, Paper 2, coursework, and oral assessments.
- Integrate technology, digital tools, and interactive resources to enhance learning.
 
Requirements:
* A Bachelor’s Degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
* A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, IB Certificate, or equivalent).
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching IGCSE and IBDP English.
* Strong understanding of IGCSE English (First Language, Second Language, and/or Literature) and IBDP English (Language & Literature / Literature HL & SL).
* Experience with IB Extended Essay (EE) supervision is desirable.
* Familiarity with Cambridge and IB assessment criteria, coursework, and marking rubrics.

Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted
Additional:
**International teaching experience is beneficial

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary   CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
