The school is seeking an outstanding and experienced Head of Physics to lead our dynamic Science department in a thriving British international school in Beijing. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality IGCSE and A-Level Physics, inspiring students, and driving academic excellence. This leadership role involves curriculum development, teacher mentoring, and fostering a passion for Physics throughout the school.
The Role:
As Head of Physics, you will:
🔹 Lead the Physics department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
🔹Teach IGCSE and A-Level Physics (IB experience is an advantage).
🔹Develop and enhance the Physics curriculum, integrating innovative teaching methods and real-world applications.
🔹Mentor and support colleagues in the Science department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
🔹Monitor and track student progress, implementing effective intervention strategies when needed.
🔹Encourage student participation in STEM competitions, science fairs, and extracurricular activities.
🔹Ensure excellent laboratory safety standards and effective use of practical experiments in teaching.
🔹Collaborate with school leadership to promote STEM education across the curriculum.

About You:
🔹A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physics, Science, or a related field.
🔹A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
🔹At least 3-5 years of experience teaching IGCSE and A-Level Physics (IB experience is desirable).
🔹Previous leadership experience in a Physics or Science department is preferred.
🔹Strong knowledge of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) syllabi and assessment criteria.
🔹Experience working in a British curriculum or international school setting.
