Performing Arts and Drama Teacher

The school is seeking an inspiring and dedicated IBMYP Performing Arts and Drama Teacher to join their talented faculty. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework, fostering creativity, collaboration, and confidence in students through engaging drama and performing arts lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality MYP Performing Arts and Drama lessons aligned with IB objectives and assessment criteria.
- Use inquiry-based and concept-driven teaching strategies to engage students in practical and theoretical aspects of performing arts.
- Design creative and interactive learning experiences, including improvisation, script work, physical theatre, and devised performances.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Assess student progress using IB MYP criterion-based assessment and provide timely feedback.
- Encourage students to reflect on their learning and develop ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills such as communication, collaboration, and self-management.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the MYP Performing Arts curriculum, ensuring alignment with IB philosophy.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers to integrate performing arts into interdisciplinary units (IDUs) and whole-school projects.
- Support students in preparing for school productions, showcases, and extracurricular performances.
- Stay updated with IB best practices and attend relevant professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, IB Certificate, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching MYP Drama / Performing Arts in an IB school is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of MYP key concepts, global contexts, and assessment criteria.
- Ability to integrate technology and digital tools into drama teaching.
