Secondary Visual Arts Teacher

This role involves teaching visual arts in English while integrating aspects of Chinese culture and global perspectives. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about international arts education standards, committed to fostering creative expression, and skilled in supporting students’ artistic development across various media.
Key Responsibilities
*Design and teach engaging visual arts lessons that meet international standards, encourage self-expression, and build technical skills.
*Foster an appreciation for art history, technique, and cultural influences, integrating both Western and Chinese artistic traditions where appropriate.
*Guide students through projects in different media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, digital arts, and more.
*Organise and oversee student art exhibitions, workshops, and other arts-related events to showcase student talent.
*Collaborate with colleagues in the arts department and across subjects to promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
*Support individualised student growth, providing constructive feedback and helping students build confidence in their artistic abilities.
*Participate in school-wide events and contribute to the school’s artistic and cultural programming.
Requirements to apply:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a bilingual or international school setting.
- IGCSE and A Level experience is mandatory
- Native-level English proficiency; Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage but not required.
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and a passion for education and student development.
