The school is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join their team and inspire a love of language and literature in their students.
The role involves delivering high-quality English instruction, fostering analytical and creative skills, and guiding students to become effective communicators. The ideal candidate will have experience with international English curriculum standards and a passion for engaging students in the study of language and literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging English lessons that meet international standards and the school’s bilingual curriculum goals.
- Teach a range of topics, including literature, creative writing, analytical writing, and language skills.
- Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and self-expression, while also developing students’ reading and analytical skills.
- Promote cross-cultural awareness and understanding through the study of both Western and Chinese literature, where appropriate.
- Participate in the planning and execution of school events, such as literary workshops, reading clubs, and drama performances.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the curriculum to integrate interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school leadership
Requirements to apply:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English, preferably in a bilingual, international, or multicultural setting.
- Valid teaching credential (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) in English or a related field.
- IGCSE and A Level experience is essential
- Proficiency in English (required); Mandarin proficiency is an advantage but not necessary.
- Passionate about literature and language, excellent communicator, culturally sensitive, and adaptable.
