The Role
We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate Secondary Physics Teacher to join their successful Science Department. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Physics at both IGCSE and IBDP levels and will inspire students to achieve academic excellence in the subject. You will have the opportunity to work with motivated and high-achieving students in an innovative and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Physics to students across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IBDP levels, ensuring high standards of academic achievement.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that stimulate students' interest in Physics and help them develop a deep understanding of the subject.
* Use a range of assessment methods to monitor student progress, provide effective feedback, and guide students towards achieving their academic goals.
* Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative classroom environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and independent learning.
* Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and participate in school-wide initiatives.
* Engage with parents and the wider school community, providing regular updates on students' progress and supporting their development.
* Participate in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs or STEM competitions, to further enrich students’ learning experience.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics or a related field; teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of teaching experience in secondary education, with specific experience teaching IGCSE and IBDP Physics.
- Strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management, and a passion for inspiring young minds in Physics.
- Willingness to engage with the multicultural environment of Shanghai and contribute to the school's international ethos.
- Experience working in a British or international school setting, with a commitment to delivering the highest educational standards.
