If you are an experienced upper primary teacher that has a specilisim of teaching English or would like to teach English to upper primary students, look no further.
My client is a well established school in Doha, Qatar which is looking for experienced Key Stage 2 English teachers to join for next academic year. The school has about 1500 students which are mainly from Arabic backgrounds. The students are very well behaved and the school is well resourced.
The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching primary students English in an Islamic faith school delivering the UK national curriculum.
Requirements to Apply

B.Ed in Primary Education OR
-
Degree in English with a PGCE in Primary Education with QTS
-
Ideally 2 years experience although some STRONG NQT's will be considered
-
Western trained

A HIGH command of written and spoken English

Being able to speak Arabic is a bonus

Must be up to date with modern pedagogy

Year 6 English Teacher Job Description
Knowledge and Understanding

Have knowledge of and keep up to date with the Curriculum guidance for Key Stage 2 , especially in the area of KS2 SATs

Be familiar with the school’s current systems and structures as outlined in policy documents, including the Health and Safety and Child Protection policies.

Understand and know how national, local comparative and school data, including National Curriculum test data can be used in professional and school development.

Planning, Teaching and Class Management

Plan and deliver, with regard for the school’s aims, own policies and schemes of work, the teaching programme for all children within the class, using clear differentiation.

Provide clear structures for lessons and for sequences of lessons, which maintain pace, motivation and challenge.

Make effective use of assessment information on pupils’ attainment and progress and in planning future lessons.

Ensure effective teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals, establishing high expectations of behaviour and attainment, so that teaching objectives are met.

Monitor and intervene when teaching to ensure sound learning and discipline and maintain a safe environment in which pupils feel confident.

Use a variety of teaching and learning styles to keep all pupils engaged.
