I am seeking a qualified and experienced Head of Department for English to join for the next academic year. My client is an expanding school in the growing Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah serving a mainly Emirati population of students. The students are well behaved and keen to learn. The school follows the Colorado state curriculum which is modified to help the students raise their level. The school recently have acquired a new premises which is set well facilitates and resourced.
Teachers at this school are from overseas and local as well. Students are mixed from KG to Grade 5 and after that it is a an all girls school. I am looking for someone with strong English Pedagogy and someone that has the ablity to review KG, Elementary, Middle and High School. You will be required to do some teaching but the focus of this role is to manage the delivering of English through the school.
The school requires someone that has experience of developing the curriclum, doing lesson observations, providing feedback and carrying out INSETs to raise the standard of teaching and learning in the school
Requirements to Apply

Degree in English

A valid teaching qualification in English e.g. PGCE with QTS

An M.Ed is highly desirable

Western trained

Ideally have experience of the USA curriculum but not mandatory

Up to date with modern pedagogy

Have experience of managing teaching

Have experience of carrying out training

Tech Savvy
If you have worked in a similar role to HoD English, such as a Coordinator or Supervisor and are confident in managing people then this would be worth you applying.

Prefer candidates with international experience
Open University qualification(s) are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Additional:

**Having a Master's is beneficial to your application
**Experience of teaching in the Middle East is beneficial to your application

Remuneration Package
Salary Range:
A salary from 14000 up to 15000
