This campus is fairly new and purpose built and the housing is walking distance from the school. This is a new compound in the heart of Sharjah about 30 minutes from Dubai.
To apply you need the following:
**A Bachelors degree in Science
**A Masters in Science is preferred but not essential
**A valid state teaching license in Science
**Ideally 2 years teaching experience
**Western-trained
**Have a high command of written and Spoken English
**Be an outstanding educator with up to date and modern pedagogy
**Be able to use an interactive whiteboard in the classroom
**Be adaptable to adjust yourself to the working culture in the UAE
The school campuses opened about 3 years ago and have since to increase in student population. Most of the teachers are from western trained countries, although there will also be teachers from local countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt etc
Most of the students are Emirati with about 10% being expats. The school is ideal if you want to further progress your career, gain experience with the IB curriculum and if you are looking to save money as the cost of living in Sharjah is lower.
Sharjah is considered a more dry Emirate, with many living in this part of the UAE but commuting to Dubai for entertainment. There are some lovely sites to see and enjoy has more of a family feel to it
The working hours of the school are from 7-3pm and on Tuesday the school delivers CPD which you are expected to attend

Science Teacher Requirements to Apply:

Bachelor's Degree in a Science related subject

A valid state teaching license in Science

At least 2 years teaching experience

Being able to speak Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory

Candidates with experience and knowledge of the IB MYP and IBDP Science preferred

Experience of teaching ICT in the Middle East is preferred

Elementary Education (K – 5) teachers must have an Elementary Education license/certification

Minimum of two years teaching experience, if a holder of a Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognized accredited or nationally licensed University or College; or four years of teaching experience, if a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in a secondary education content area from a recognized accredited or nationally licensed University or College

Meet highly qualified definitions for teaching in their content areas as identified by coursework listed on their undergraduate college and postgraduate transcripts and defined by No Child Left Behind Act (USA)

Two confidential letters of recommendation from immediate past and current employers that are hand signed on official letterhead from the school and/or two confidentially completed

Knowledgeable of effective teaching methodologies, assessment strategies, standards-based instruction, and strong content knowledge

Possess excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration, problem-solving, decision making and relationship building skills

Understand and can use Standards Based teaching and assessment practices in the classroom

Is student-centered in their delivery of instruction in the classroom

Sharjah is located next to Dubai and border close to Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. You can get to the center of Dubai in about 35 minutes from Sharjah. Sharjah is considered a dry Emirate where there is little consumption of Alcohol. It is the 3rd largest city in the UAE with a population of over 800,000 people.
