In the next academic year (2021-2022), major changes will be adopted in 33 public schools in Abu Dhabi, education authorities announced on Tuesday.

The announcement will set up six new schools and replace 15. The changes to be made by the School Institution in the Emirates will also include a change in the academic cycles of nine schools; a change to buildings in two schools; and an alternate to the name in one school.

The statement follows a recent decision issued by State Minister of Public Education Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, who stressed that no school should be closed for renovation or replacements unless another or new school can accept students at the same time.

According to the minister’s decision, six new schools will be opened in many areas of Abu Dhabi, housing students from campuses, which will have to close during the replacement period. In some cases, the kindergarten phase is either created or deleted.
