All Public Schools in UAE Capital get a Clean Up

That’s right, for the first time in years a widespread plan to refurbish all of Abu Dhabi’s Public Schools is underway and as a result, 227 schools are set to be completely revamped and refreshed with new pedestrian crossings, footpaths, signs, road markings, speed humps, drop off and collection areas and even brand new school buses.

The biggest implication for teachers is that brand new parking spots prioritized for teachers are said to be being created and these are designed to be free-of-charge. The speed signs and humps have been designed to drop the large amount of traffic accidents in the vicinities as well so you’ll no longer have to worry about that maniac on the road trying to run you down!

Officials of the Department of Transport have said, “The Department of Municipal Affairs is executing the schools zone improvements for all public schools. On the other hand, private developers will have to include all improvements according to the schools zone deadline issued by the STSC.” School zones specifically are being painted red to signify that speed limits in the areas are reduced, this is designed to drop the amount of road casualties caused by speeding. In addition, separate zones for parents and buses are being set up to prevent traffic jams.
